Antique suit of armor Edo Shogun period w/ Tokubetsu Kicho Certificate

This is a high-quality antique armor, just finished in beautiful vermilion-red from the Edo period (1600-1700s). Cuirass consists of Nimaido, two divided bodyguards constructed from Iyozane iron plates. A traditional crest, Izutsu (water well girder), is painted on the chest. Zunari, or "human head-shaped" kabuto, is one of the most popular helmet styles amongst the warlords of Japan's Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period) to the early Edo period. The helmet features a very remarkable wooden headerboard. Registered as Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
